Autodesk Design Suite 2014 Uninstall Tool

This is a very general uninstall procedure if you want to read the full outline and details go to Autodesk uninstall instructions to obtain more information about the proper procedure of removing the Autodesk software.

In order to get a clean uninstall, you need to uninstall your software, clean out all your directories and clean up the registry to ensure a proper installation. If you do not clean up your computer you may run the risk of a particular corrupt file or folder not installing because the installer sees that it is already there.

Uninstall using the Autodesk Uninstall Tool:

Go to the start menu > all programs > Autodesk. Click on the Uninstall Tool. This will show a list of software that you can remove related to Autodesk.

***When you are finished removing all or some of the Autodesk products make sure they are not listed in the Control Panel > programs and features.

You can uninstall the software via the control panel:

Go to your Start Menu > Control Panel > Programs and Features and navigate to your software then click on Uninstall/Change at the top.

Clean up your directories;

Windows 7/Windows 8.1

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\delete your software(s) folder.
C:\Users\your user name/profile\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\delete your software(s) folder.
C:\Users\your user name/profile\AppData\Local\Autodesk\delete your software(s) folder.
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\delete your software(s) folder.

Delete as many files in Temp folder;

Verify that your temp folder has been cleaned out as best as possible. To get to your temp folder do the following; Go to the start menu and type %temp% in the search folders and files and hit your enter key or open a Windows Explorer and in the path type %temp% and hit the enter key. Select all the files inside the temp folder and hit your Delete key. If you get a dialog box stating that something cannot be deleted click the Skip button.

Clean up the registry;

Go to the start menu and type in REGEDIT the Registry editor will open. You will want to save the current state of the registry by going to the File pull down menu and click on Export once you have saved you can now search for your software in the following areas:

HINT: IF YOU ARE DELETING THE ONLY SOFTWARE FROM AUTODESK THAT YOU HAVE YOU CAN DELETE THE AUTODESK FOLDER!

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >Software > Autodesk > AutoCAD > check within the folders that follow for your software that needs to be deleted. To verify click on this string and in the window to the right you will see the version and name of the software.

Now install AutoCAD with firewall disabled and anti virus disabled. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that your fire wall is disabled as well as your anti-virus their job is to protect your registry and not let anything download to it. A lot of files from the Autodesk CD will not download if they are running.
